This six-week hybrid course for instructors at Oklahoma State University focuses on practical strategies for increasing the effectiveness of online courses. A variety of topics are explored throughout the class including course design, use of technology to enhance student engagement, best practices for managing online students, and an exploration of copyright principles and assessment strategies.
This certified course also includes two on-campus meetings (Jan. 30 and Mar. 6 from 11:30-1:30 in ITLE 126) and requires participants to spend roughly six to eight hours per week engaging in activities such as doing readings, posting on discussion boards, recording brief videos, and completing assignments. The overall structure is quite similar to a typical online course experience and is designed to give instructors a first-hand experience of what it's like to be an online student.
The instructor will be in touch with you prior to the start-up to give you instructions for this class.
All sessions will be online (Web) except for the two Mandatory days we will meet in 126 ITLE on the OSU-Stillwater campus.
