The Military History Center, located at 112 N. Main St. in Broken Arrow, is commemorating POW/MIA Recognition Day on Saturday, September 16.
The highlight of the program will be the dedication of the Military History Center’s brick memorial to Oklahoma’s Vietnam War MIAs. Rolling Thunder Oklahoma will participate in the dedication. There will be MIA family members present as well as former POWs from the Korean War.
Miss Tulsa, Maggie Bond, will lead the audience in the Star Spangled Banner and other patriotic songs. Broken Arrow High School Air Force JROTC cadets will post the colors and raise the American and POW/MIA flags.
The program starts at 11:00 a.m. and will last about one hour. It will be held on the Memorial Flag Plaza at the Military History Center. The Center will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission will be free on the day of the event.
